Shipping / Pick Up
Our shipping policy is very simple: We do not deliver merchandise outside of District of Columbia, Maryland, Virginia.
Time Frame for Delivery:
We believe in prompt delivery and believe that merchandise should reach the consumer as soon as possible. We try to ship your merchandise as soon as possible. In some cases, the availability of merchandise may cause a delay but, mattresses and on sale items are delivered to the consumer within 2-3 business days. If the merchandise lacks availability in our Washington, District of Columbia (D.C.)warehouse, we have to order it from our Philadelphia warehouse. In this case, it may take up to 3-14 business days for merchandise to arrive at our Washington, D.C. warehouse. To ensure our consumer a fast shipment delivery, we contact them as soon as possible after the merchandise is received in war house. We will contact you to make a delivery appointment at that time. Please note that there is three (3) hour delivery time frame for all deliveries unless other arrangements are made otherwise.
Upon Delivery (A note to our Consumers) / Upon Picking The merchandise up!
The delivery guys will bring the merchandise to the front door. After that, it is consumer's responsibility to take the merchandise inside their house. Our delivery guys generally help you put the merchandise inside but they reserve the right to deny the request. Please have your Identification Card, Credit Card used to purchase and a receipt for your purchase upon delivery or picking the merchandise up. We will check for these three items and we reserve the right to reject the delivery if these items are not provided. These security measures are taken to prevent any fraudulent activity and provide consumer a safe . We also require that someone over the age of eighteen (18) is present to accept the delivery. For our truck's convenience please make sure that there is parking space available for our truck. All exchange requests for orders from Philadelphia warehouse should be done within 7 days of purchase and will be charged 15% restocking fee.***Delivery is non refundable***
Damage upon delivery.
If your merchandise is damaged upon delivery, please make a note of it on delivery paper. The third party delivery service will gladly bring the new merchandise to your location and exchange the damaged product within 3-7 business days. If the consumer does not write
on the delivery paper that the merchandise was damaged, then the consumer is responsible for bringing the merchandise back to our store location. We are not responsible for any shipping charges that are to occur if the consumer brings the merchandise back to the store and exchange it.
We gladly help you in picking the merchandise up from our store location. Unlike other stores, we do not charge you for pick up. Mattress and on sale merchandise can be picked up immediately, but if we do not have the merchandise in our D.C. warehouse then it will take up to 3-5 business days for the merchandise to pick up.
Deliveries more than 25 miles.
We do not ship furniture outside of DC. MD. VA. NOTE* DELIVERY IS NOT FREE! If your delivery is more than 25 miles from our store range, than there will be an additional $1.90 charge per mile along with the charge that you pay online.
Normally our merchandise will only require little or no assembly, but if it requires assembly please understand that we do not assemble. We do not assemble your furniture.
Merchandise storage policy
All purchases made from any of our store locations that are for either pickup/delivery/layaway are subjected to a 15% monthly storage charge. Please note* the charge applies to any order that has not been picked up within seven business days of original purchased date. Storage charge also applies to delivery attempts that are made for seven business days and more. Without any consumer response leading to the merchandise to be stored in our warehouse for additional time (more than seven days) will end up with 15% storage charge. Layaways that are extended for more than two months, also apply for a storage charge. The 15% is to be calculated from the total amount of customer purchases. Please note* the order will be cancelled without any refund if the percentage amount owed exceeds the total purchased amount.
Please allow 3-5 days for the UPS merchandise to be shipped. Please allow the standard time frame for UPS zones for the merchandise to arrive. Normally its between 3-5 days, but per UPS policy it may take a little longer for the merchandise to arrive. Please understand that ups is a third party company and JMD Furniture hold's no responsibility for any delays caused in shipping products by UPS.
